If you are a sole trader or own a small business in NSW, you may be eligible to receive a small business safety rebate on any eligible safety items up to $500 in total. There are four easy steps too;

 - Claim up to a $500 rebate
 - Send proof of funds and receive your rebate
 
To be eligible for the rebate:
- You must own and operate a registered business in NSW
 - You must be a small business who employs no more than 50 workers
 - You must attend an eligible event provided by SafeWork NSW prior to purchasing your safety item. These events include:
 - Workshop
 - Workplace visit
 - Industry event
 - Webinar
 
What can I purchase?
There are plenty of safety or hygiene items that are eligible, including items to support business hygiene measures during COVID 19

- Portable hand sanitiser stations*
 - Fixed hand sanitiser stations*
 - Fixed disinfectant wipes dispenser*
 - Safety signs for COVID-19 workplace arrangements e.g fixed hand sanitiser stations and disinfectant wipes stations
 - Hand free bins*
 - Sneeze & cough guards
 - Roller cleaning buckets
 
Other eligible items to assist with
- Hazardous manual tasks
 - Slips, trips and falls
 - Injuries from moving objects
 - Chemicals and dangerous goods
 - Hazardous noise
 
What can’t I purchase?
Purchases that are not included in the rebate
- GST, freight and insurance costs on items
 - The design and manufacture of new safety items
 - Purchase of raw materials
 - Service repairs or maintenance
 - Normal safety requirements such as licensing, certification and testing
 - Training fees or courses
 
What do I need to complete my application?
- A tax invoice from a supplier with an ABN. The invoice must display a NIL balance, or proof of payment
 - Details of the eligible event you attended
 - Your business details including ABN, trading name, business bank account and workers compensation policy number
