Immediate assistance is now available for impacted NSW residents who have been directly affected by the floods.

Australian Government Disaster Recovery Program

Available from Thursday 7^th July at 2pm, the Australian Disaster Recovery payment is a lump sum payment of;

• $1000 for eligible adults
• $400 for each eligible child (under 16yrs)

You may be eligible if;

• You are an Australian Resident or hold an eligible visa
• You meet Local Government Area requirements
• You were seriously affected by the recent floods;
  • You have been seriously injured
  • Your home has been severely damaged or destroyed
  • Major assets have been directly affected

Disaster Recovery Allowance

You can also claim the Disaster Recovery Allowance if you have lost income as a direct result of the floods and you are an employee or sole trader.

You may be eligible if;

• You were 16 or older at the time of the event
• You are an Australian resident or hold an eligible visa
• You work/obtain income from or live in an affected Local Government Area
• You lost income as a direct result of the event

If you’re eligible, you can get up to 13 weeks of income support payments, starting from the date you first lost your income.
