NSW Fair Work – Award Updates

Did you know that the minimum wage was increased on 1 November 2020 for some awards?

Fair Work have released a full list of awards which are affected which is available here. From 1 November, additional awards in Group 2 are now included in the 1.75% increase to minimum wages.

Some of the common industries included are:

• Construction Award
• Clerks—Private Sector Award
• Plumbing and Fire Sprinklers Award
• Transport Industry Awards
• Real Estate Industry Awards

If you’re an employer who is in one of these industries, then you will need to ensure your award wages are updated in your payroll software from the first full pay period starting 1 November 2020.

Group 3, which is set to start from 1 Feb 2021, includes the Fast Food Industry Award and the Restaurant Industry Award.
